Thawte SSL Certificate Purchase Procedure

  1. Place an order with the store for certificates and/or renewals (SLCBSL002-Thawte License, SRCBSL001-Thawte License Renewal), via web, phone or walk-in. Customers may pay with Penn State Purchasing Cards, or Store account (if your department has one).
  2. Go to https://eshop.moc.psu.edu/certificates
  3. If you have never ordered certificate products through the Store, when you log in to the site you will be asked for information about your unit and manager/director. This will allow us to verify your identity and authorization to purchase SSL certificates for psu.edu domains in your unit. You need only register with us once. We will periodically review our registration list to ensure accuracy.
  4. If you have previously registered, but wish to add additional domains, the process is similar- however we only need to verify your ownership/stewardship of the domain requested.
  5. Once you have registered with the Store, you may submit a CSR or Renewal request via the online form (you may immediately submit CSRs while your registration is pending). The Store will verify your CSR and submit it on your behalf to the Vendor. The web application will analyze your CSR and give immediate feedback if there are any problems.
  6. Once the CSR or Renewal is processed, you will receive your product directly from the Vendor via email. The Store will invoice you for the products once the Vendor confirms delivery.
